Thank you for making this video! I almost bought the black & white collection, even though I really love the colored editions I've seen online. You were really interesting to listen to!
And now 4. Titan Comics has taken over the rights to the trademarked Conan. And Ablaze publishes Public Domain conan
It was a weekly comic strip in an Argentinian newspaper
You need to do more videos. This is good stuff
I appreciate all the recommendations really new to comics and mangas and definitely dont know where to start so these type of vids really help. will definitely read these thanks new sub
Woof😂
I have this collection plus the Spanish too, now I'm thinking of buying the new Box set too
Juan Gimenez was actually an Argentinean artist, sadly passed away in the last pandemic
Variant covers are a scam to try and force scarcity. Oh this thing that is common (the book itself) is actually rare.
it is currently 160usd... i dont know if it is worth it and i dont think it will be reprinted since kodansha claimed "this will be last time for real" idk if it is wise to wait for amazon to drop price
Can you show your bookshelfs in detail ( one is behind you)
No videos in FOUR YEARS. I guess you had a catastrophic computer crash. Hobby channel forever abandoned. ☹☹
It seems like he's okay. He was doing a podcast called “Now That's What I Call Podcast!” in 2022 about music. Maybe he just stopped collecting comics
In early summer 1983 a friend gifted me a new copy of Ronin #1. I bought the next five books, the every-six-weeks publication schedule was not maintained, issues 4, 5 & 6 appeared over the course of six or eight months. Still have the set, I loved the series from the first panel, yet it didn't escape me Eric Van Lustbader published The Sunset Warrior trilogy in 1977 & 1978 whose hero's name is Ronin. Both Lustbader and Miller's Ronins are badass martial artists and swordsmen. That did erode some of my enjoyment of Miller's Ronin---but it was too good a name not to use.
Hey this one months kolosal 4 episode Conan the pirate captain!!ua-cam.com/video/iE4OJ51nyUg/v-deo.html All gold engraving exclusive book only in the publishing house !!Comics Centrum czech!!! Fantgastic
Great suggestions, would you suggest me any series or oneshot issue, i loved Y THE LAST MAN. So something similar or great story telling like Y the last man if you can recommend :)
hi, can we got more videos or podcasts please?
@Sequentials Deluxe: This may be a weird comment, but I noticed that your hands are almost EXACTLY like MINE! I'm 51 Years old, and I've never in my life seen someone who has hands that look genotypically like mine. Your right-hand thumbnail is different than your left-hand thumbnail, though. Other than that difference, the structure and look of your fingers and thumbs are an exact match! Very strange to me, but remarkable.
Excellent breakdown man
Cool list. Agree about Watchman. It is very wordy. It can bore people. Y the Last Man was cool. Invincible is very good. Fun read but long Daredevil stuff was the turning point. Hated Hawkey. 🗑️🗑️👎. Fear Agent was good. Time travel can be good or annoying if it is done wrong So Akira is longer than the movie. Manga are longer. Good stuff
Years later, we now have Warlock omnibus and Gallery Editions.
My only complaint about omni are they get damaged easy & some of them, the binding sucks & barely creates an eye. How do you comfortably read your omnibus?
Hope everything is well. You were one of the first comic people I watched on UA-cam. Think you’ll start making videos again?
3 years and counting to fix his computer, where did he take it
Collecting farts.
I heard a omnibus fart.
It was a great movie ! They did shitty pr. And mis handled it.
Just devoured The Incal, The Metabarons and The Metabarons: Second Cycle and it's probably the most epic series of graphic novels I've ever read. Very likely gonna get The Technopriests next, I can't get enough of that universe :)
Digital coloring is by Steve Oliff of Olyoptics. He is also one of the pioneers of digital comic book coloring and did a good job with the various Image titles.
The ending was a little confusing to me... I didn't get if Stel really woke up from the dream and actually rescue Atana or if was all really a disease. Anyway, this is the first big Moebius' graphic novel that I've finished (I haven't been able to properly read The Incal, I didn't get pass from the first 60 pages), and I really liked it, the drawings and colours are beautiful.
Haul of fame..!
Any artist as overly productive as Kirby likely burns out at some point. Kirby had done the cosmic epic thing sine the early 60s, so it naturally became a little worn in his hands. The Eternals to me is his Marvel version of New Gods just as his Black Panther was the Marvel version of Mister Miracle. Also one could say New Gods was his DC version of Thor. He probably gained still more artistic freedom in the span of his career, but just was not the greatest storyteller. And so his later more free productions lack focus and coherence.
One of my favorite books back in the 80's. Was an absolute blast and my introduction to Bolland's work.
I disagree with you, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way Kirby drew DINOS, CAVEMEN in fact I love the way KIRBY DREW EVERYTHING!
Comics are so fun to look at and to read.
Really well done review!! Thank you! I've been on the fence for tracking this Omni down and you've convinced me to get it. Thanks!
What are you talking about? The art is great in this book, who cares if it changes as long as it’s all good
I hope someday you comeback to make more videos.
Alan Moore and Grant Morrison are the reasons I got into comics! I'm a giant psychedelic hippie so it makes sense lol
"The Instant Gratification Generation"...... You sound like a little kid, you cant have a battle sequence on every page, I enjoy the battle sequences the most also, but you have to build the story, you must enjoy all the crap Hollywood's been putting out for the last 25yrs.... Go read FANGORIA For Fu×k sake.
Is this cimmerian and king conan combined? or More?
Read a thousand books and live a thousand lives. My 3 favorite art books are: - Works of Wonder by Michael Whelan - Icon by Frank Frazetta - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
Do they make different bindings on the same content ? It would seem irrelevant if I intended to get Spiderman for example, I would get it with whatever binding it has. Or are there actual production of glued and sewn for the same content ?
when
when new video
Great video
The comic that mainly inspired Samurai Jack and TMNT
Has 6 first in black and white so was not Coullor from start was in a Gigant serie album printed 1984 so Wonder when got Coullor when this was 6 first and was black and white in Europe
Excellent Video!!! Hope you come back soon for new content!!!
Really want to read this story ha Great video sir 💪
Art-wise, for me, the high point is the run by Gil Kane and especially the inks by the Filipino superstar, *_RUDY NEBRES._* (When Infantino followed Kane, Rudy inked those books as well.)
